Lei Yu

Lei is an undergraduate college counselor known for combining a strong understanding of student development with a proven ability to deliver results.

With advanced academic training — including a master’s degree from the University of Southern California, a Ph.D. in Social Gerontology from Miami University, and a graduate certificate in Applied Statistics — he brings a long-term, research-informed perspective to undergraduate planning. He understands not only how admissions systems operate, but how students’ interests, motivation, and identity evolve throughout the high school years.

In his work with students, Lei builds high-trust relationships that allow him to accurately assess strengths, challenges, and growth potential. He helps students clarify academic direction, design meaningful extracurricular strategies, and translate their experiences into clear, compelling application narratives. At the same time, he maintains strong structure and accountability, ensuring that plans move from insight to execution.

Lei has successfully guided students to admission at highly selective universities, including Ivy League institutions and top U.S. private and public universities. His counseling philosophy is grounded in both empathy and rigor — supporting students as individuals while consistently delivering measurable admissions outcomes.
